Coronation Street Star Beverley Callard Shares Health Update Amid Cancer Battle
Coronation Street Star Beverley Callard's Cancer Update

Coronation Street icon Beverley Callard has been keeping fans updated on her brave cancer journey since announcing her diagnosis in February. The actress, who recently moved to Dublin, received the news just moments before filming her first scenes for Irish soap Fair City.

Speaking on RTÉ's The Late Late Show, she revealed: 'I had some tests just before I left the UK and literally 15, 20 minutes before my first scene, my consultant rang and said I had to come back to the UK for urgent treatment.' She added: 'I was diagnosed with breast cancer, but I'm fine. It's very early stages.'

Now, Beverley has taken to Instagram to share a mixed update. In a video, she said: 'The good news is my new script arrived for going back to work next week. But the negative side is I've had quite a lot of pain in my right leg. It's a suspected blood clot, which can happen with cancer and surgery.'

After undergoing tests, she returned with better news: 'Good news is it's definitely not a blood clot. It's a cyst, but it's quite common.' She joked: 'Not pleased I've got something common, but there we go.'

She also met with her radiotherapist, who confirmed she will need 10 days of radiotherapy: five consecutive days, a weekend off, then five more days. She asked about working and was told she could, but not to move furniture.

Beverley remains positive, thanking fans for their support and vowing to return to Fair City soon.
