Angie Best Cancer-Free After Stage 3 Diagnosis: Full Recovery
Angie Best Cancer-Free After Stage 3 Colon Cancer

Angie Best has revealed she is now cancer-free, seven months after being diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer. The former model and ex-wife of footballer George Best shared the news in an Instagram video, detailing her treatment journey and expressing gratitude.

Diagnosis and Treatment

In January, Angie, 74, announced her diagnosis, which had spread to her liver. She underwent a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy to shrink the tumours, followed by keyhole surgery (laparoscopy) to remove the remaining cancer. The treatment plan also included mistletoe therapy at a Swiss clinic.

Recovery and Re-invention

Angie explained that the chemo and immunotherapy reduced a 30cm lump to a small piece attached to the colon, which was then surgically removed. She spent three days on fluids post-surgery, losing weight, but has since resumed eating and is focused on healing. She said, "I'm so happy because now I can officially say with gratitude and love that I am cancer-free and healing."

Looking ahead, Angie expressed a desire to reinvent herself at age 74, stating, "I've got so much I want to do. I'm going to reinvent myself at the ripe old age of 74. Wish me luck!" Her son, TV personality Calum Best, had previously set up a GoFundMe page to support her specialist treatment.
