Adult film stars face serious health hazards both on and off set, from injuries sustained during filming to struggles with addiction.
On-Set Injuries
Australian adult star Angela White recalled how she once got “pummelled so hard” it nearly ruptured her appendix while shooting with male star Kiernan Lee. “It’s true Lee’s million-dollar penis reaches places it shouldn’t,” White told the Only Stans podcast in 2023. She resolved the issue by getting her appendix removed, noting “there’s way more room up in there now.” In a later scene, White’s ‘lockjaw’ nearly bit off Lee’s member.
US-based Adriana Chechik revealed in 2021 damage to her neck, spine, and brainstem from rough scenes. “I feel like it’s just like sexier wrestling,” she said, comparing her work to WWE. “I have a really f***** up neck now. I have a pinched nerve and my C6 and 7 are out of place.”
Male Performers Also Affected
Riley Reid said her nails once “ripped” a male performer’s penis to shreds during a sex act.
Scottish star Lana Wolf had her leg broken in four places by a horse, sharing images online of herself in a cast.
Addiction and Tragedy
Emily Willis, real name Litzy Lara Banuelos, was a top porn actress who entered a luxury rehab centre in California in early 2024 for ketamine addiction. Eight days later she was found unconscious in her room. She suffered a severe, irreversible brain injury and now requires round-the-clock care, unable to walk, speak, or move independently.
