Lisa Faulkner Thanks Supporters After Breast Cancer Surgery

Lisa Faulkner has issued a thank you to supporters after revealing her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this week. The TV chef, known for co-hosting John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen with her husband John Torode, shared the news in a video on Instagram on Thursday, July 2.

Diagnosis and Surgery

Faulkner explained that she had been quiet on social media because she underwent surgery for the very early stages of breast cancer. She said: “I have had to have surgery, because I have had the very early stages of breast cancer. So I had surgery two weeks ago and it's quite a big op, but it's all good and I have had my results back and they have got everything out.”

She confirmed that the results were clear and that she will need radiotherapy in a few weeks. “So it's all clear, and I will just now need some radiotherapy in a few weeks. And I just wanted to say that, yeah, I have still got quite a bit of healing to do, but I am good, I'm well and feeling so much better,” she added.

Gratitude for Mammograms and NHS

Faulkner emphasized the importance of regular mammograms, crediting the NHS for early detection. “I am so grateful that I went for my mammogram and I just wanted to say don't put them off, go, because they found this. And without that mammogram it wouldn't have been picked up. And I want to say thank you to our wonderful NHS and the fact that we can have these mammograms and we can get treatment early and quickly,” she said.

Thank You Message

In a follow-up update days after the announcement, Faulkner expressed her gratitude: “Thank you for all of your support and your lovely messages. I promise I will read every word. So many of you going through this or know someone who is. Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

The star had recently returned to the stage for the first time in over 20 years, appearing in the touring adaptation of the 1992 film Single White Female alongside Kym Marsh.
