Lisa Faulkner has expressed her gratitude to fans after sharing an update on her breast cancer journey. The 54-year-old TV presenter, married to chef John Torode, revealed her diagnosis earlier this week following a routine mammogram. She has since undergone a major operation and will receive radiotherapy.
Faulkner's message to followers
In an Instagram update, Faulkner wrote: 'Thank you for all your support and lovely messages. I promised I will read every word. So many of you going through this or know someone who is. Your love and kindness has really touched me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.' She added: 'I just wanted to say I've got a bit of healing to do, but I'm good. I'm well and feeling so much better.'
Support from celebrities and charities
Famous faces including Amanda Holden, Danny Dyer, Ruth Langsford, Denise Welch, Dermot O'Leary, and Holly Willoughby sent their love. Amanda Holden commented: 'I'm so glad you've shared this my angel. It will inspire and help so many people you've got this and we all love and adore you.' Breast cancer charities praised Faulkner for speaking out, noting it would encourage more women to attend routine mammograms.
Details of her surgery and recovery
Faulkner explained her recent social media silence: 'I had surgery two weeks ago, it was quite a big op but it's all good and I've my results back and they've got everything out. So it's all clear and I just need now to have some radiotherapy in a few weeks.'
