Prince William and Kate will never welcome Prince Harry and Meghan Markle into their home, according to royal commentator Carole Malone, who claimed that trust between the two couples has been severely damaged.
The comments were made during the first-ever episode of Royals Unscripted from the Daily Express, where royal editor Emily Ferguson and commentator Carole Malone discuss the latest royal news, including the recent paparazzi incident outside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet's school, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's reaction to the King's statement reaffirming their position as private citizens, and reports that Prince Harry is in talks to make a documentary about Princess Diana.
Move to the UK and family ties
One topic of conversation was the family's return to the UK and what may have motivated the move. Emily said she believes they moved for Harry because he was "lonely" and "bored" and "needs that sense of purpose." She added that the children on Meghan's Instagram stories have American accents now and said they're "losing their British heritage."
She added: "I think this must be quite hard for Harry. The fact that they have no links to his entire family and entire upbringing."
Carole then claimed Meghan has no links to her family and that they're now in a "position where he has no links to his family either." Carole said the children have a "tailor-made ready family" in the UK, pointing to their cousins and the opportunity to learn more about British culture.
Trust 'shattered' between couples
However, she claimed that she could not see William and Kate allowing Harry and Meghan into their home. She said: "And I feel so sorry for those two kids because in this country they have a tailor-made, ready family. Loads of cousins, loads of people they could see, learn about the British culture here, and they're never going to see those kids because I can't see for one second William and Kate allowing the two of them, I mean, the couple into their home, I can't see any of the rest of the Royal Family entertaining them because they can't be trusted. They can't be trusted not to repeated what they hear within the family and so they drag the kids from America where they did have a life and where they did have friends and brought them to a country where they're not going to know their British family."
Emily described the situation as "sad", pointing to how Harry and William have previously both spoken about the bond shared by the cousins during family gatherings at Balmoral.
