Carroll's of Tullamore's Traditional Lasagne has been recalled across Northern Ireland after the Food Standards Agency (FSA) identified undeclared eggs and milk in the product, posing a risk to people with allergies.
The ready meal, sold in 350g packs with a use-by date of November 4, 2026, may trigger reactions in consumers with an allergy or intolerance to egg or milk. The FSA has issued an Allergy Alert and advised affected customers not to eat the product.
Reason for the Recall
The FSA stated: "This product contains egg and milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to egg or with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents." The ingredients are not declared on the label, which is the core issue.
The company behind the lasagne explained: "A fault with back of pack label may have resulted in undeclared allergens in the product, and therefore the product should not be consumed by those who have an allergy to milk and eggs." Some units were found to have the vegan lasagne label, which does not declare milk or egg, even though the traditional lasagne contains both.
Action for Consumers
The FSA advised: "If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to egg or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead, return it to where you bought it for a full refund."
Carroll's of Tullamore also urged customers: "Please dispose of the product and return the label to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your co-operation."
Further Information
Point of sale notices will be displayed in stores that sold the lasagne, and the company has been advised to contact relevant allergy organisations to inform their members about the recall.

The FSA issues allergy alerts when food products pose a risk to consumers due to missing or incorrect allergy labelling. In such cases, products may be withdrawn from shelves or recalled, with customers asked to return them.
