Katie Price has revealed that she is being sent to a gastroenterologist to investigate her ongoing and unexplained weight loss. The former glamour model shared the news on this week's episode of her podcast, The Katie Price Show, where she also discussed her son Harvey's use of Mounjaro to lose weight for health reasons.
Doctors Order Further Tests
Speaking on the podcast with her sister Sophie, Price said: “On another note, doctors have rang me, I’ve got to go back and have two blood tests because I’ve gotta go and see a gastrologist [sic] or something? To get to the bottom of why I’m losing weight, so - is it the gastrologist or whatever they’re called - have asked me to do two more blood tests. I don’t know what they’re testing for, but then, take it from there.”
Price expressed hope that both she and Harvey would be sorted out, adding: “So we’ll both hopefully be sorted. I’ll hopefully end up putting on weight and Harvey’s going to lose it. We’re swapping.”
Ongoing Health Concerns
Price’s drastic weight loss has sparked concern among fans over the past year. After accidentally stabbing herself while preparing food, she was checked into hospital last September to investigate the unexplained weight loss. At the time, she said: “I’ve been up early at the doctors so she could do some bloods - and because my veins are so bad. They had three attempts. They could only fill two tubes up, so I’ve got to back in two weeks. The reason I’m going to the doctors is because I keep losing weight, and I don’t know why. So that’s that.”
The investigation continued into January, with Price admitting there was “obviously something wrong” with her. She said that despite eating everything in sight, she still fails to put on weight and knows she looks “gaunt” as a result. In February, she shared a video showing she had put on weight while in Dubai with husband Lee Andrews, whom she called a “feeder.”
Impact of Stress on Weight
Despite initially gaining half a stone when she met Andrews, the relationship became contentious and took a toll on her health. After Andrews was jailed in Dubai, Price opened up about the toll his incarceration was having on her, seeing her weight plummet further. In a June social media post, she shared a picture of herself in a tight grey t-shirt and leggings, captioned: “I am so stressed at the minute. Look, I’m just losing weight.” She likened her slim body to an 80s cartoon character, saying: “I actually look like a Skeleton. Look, look at that gap.”
