Phillip Schofield's voice has left people completely baffled as it was heard across a GP surgery discussing diabetes and sharing background information on the condition. The former TV presenter, once one of Britain's most in-demand stars, stepped down from all his roles with ITV in May 2023 after admitting to an affair with a younger runner on This Morning.
Unexpected Voiceover in GP Surgery
Radio presenter Sam Darlaston shared a clip on social media showing Schofield's voiceover playing on screens in his GP surgery. In the video, Schofield is heard explaining how the pancreas releases insulin to help glucose reach cells, adding, "If you have diabetes, this system doesn't work."
Sam expressed his surprise on the Embarrassing For No Reason podcast, saying, "I was sat in the doctors and they were playing a video about diabetes. I was like 'wait a minute, I know that voice.'" His co-presenter Tatum McGreal confirmed it was indeed Schofield.
Questions About the Recording
Sam wondered whether the voiceover was recorded before or after Schofield's scandals. "Has he recorded this since the scandals? Or is this an old video that my doctors is still carting out?" he asked. Tatum joked, "I love the idea of like the NHS going 'f**k the system, let's book Phillip Schofield'."
One social media user noted the same video played at their GP surgery. It remains unclear if this is new work for Schofield or a pre-existing recording.
Schofield's Current Life
Schofield rarely speaks publicly now, but earlier this month he gave a rare interview to the Daily Mail, stating he is "content and happy" with life away from television. "Life is really calm and drama-free now," he said. "I decided a while ago that I just wanted a quiet life with family, friends I can trust and my dog."
The Mirror has approached representatives for Schofield, NHS England, and Diabetes UK for comment.
