Katie Price has revealed her son Harvey has already lost two stone after beginning treatment with weight-loss drug Mounjaro. The 48-year-old mum has spoken openly in the past about her fears for Harvey’s health as his weight climbed to almost 30 stone, having previously said she worried he could suffer a heart attack.
Harvey’s health journey
Harvey, 24, has Prader-Willi syndrome, a rare genetic condition which can cause an excessive appetite and an overwhelming, persistent drive to eat. After months of Katie pushing for doctors to consider weight-loss medication for her eldest son, she has now confirmed he has started taking Mounjaro, and says she can already notice the difference.
Speaking to sister Sophie Price on their podcast, Katie revealed: ‘And yeah, he’s started Mounjaro because I told you he’s lost two stone.’ She added: ‘And I can really see him losing weight.’ ‘That’s great,’ Sophie responded.
Push for medical help
The update marks a major development after Katie repeatedly spoke about trying to get medical help to manage Harvey’s weight. In April 2025, he was reported to have reached almost 30 stone, although changes to his diet later helped him shed around one-and-a-half stone.
Katie subsequently said she and Harvey’s medical team were considering Mounjaro, but expressed frustration last year that treatment had yet to begin. ‘I’ve been on the case to doctors about putting him on the Mounjaro,’ she said at the time. The former glamour model even considered appealing to medical professionals through social media as she grew increasingly concerned about his health. ‘I’m actually going to put something up on Instagram to say, is there any private doctors out there?’ she said.
Health concerns
While stressing that she was ‘not slagging the NHS off’, Katie said Harvey was in the obese category and described becoming frightened by his breathing while he slept. ‘When he sleeps, I worry because he’s snoring and wheezing. And then sometimes he holds his breath and I’m like he’s massive,’ she said. ‘He’s just getting bigger and he’ll end up dying of a heart attack.’
Katie claimed doctors had previously warned her that Harvey could be at increased risk of a heart attack if he was unable to lose weight. Katie previously shared her fears for Harvey in an interview with The Sun newspaper, insisting she is keen for him to start on a weight loss medication. ‘He’s putting on weight. It doesn’t matter what we do. He can’t put his shoes on without sweating. He can’t walk far because he gets out of breath,’ she said. ‘It’s because of all the weight. So the doctors are doing it to give him a better, longer life, and for his health.’
However, she was adamant she would not simply obtain the medication and administer it herself without appropriate medical supervision. ‘I’m not going to inject him myself because that’s not medically right to do for him, but something needs to be done,’ she previously said.
Treatment plan
Katie later explained that doctors had initially been attempting to help Harvey lose weight through dietary changes before moving on to medication. In November, she said his medical team was also considering another weight-loss drug once clinical trials had been completed, while Mounjaro remained a possible first step.
‘The reason he hasn’t started Mounjaro yet is because they were trying to get him to lose weight through his diet, to try all avenues,’ she explained at the time.
Harvey lives with a number of complex health conditions in addition to Prader-Willi syndrome, including autism. He is also partially blind due to septo-optic dysplasia, a rare condition affecting development of the optic nerves and other areas of the brain.
He is Katie’s eldest child and has regularly appeared alongside his mum in documentaries exploring their lives, including Katie Price: Harvey and Me and its follow-up programmes. Now, after months of uncertainty over whether he would be able to begin medical treatment for his weight, Katie says the results are finally becoming visible.
