A toddler has tragically died following a medical emergency at a property in Barry, Wales. The incident occurred on Gladstone Road at around 9:25pm on January 4, prompting an immediate response from emergency services, including an air ambulance.
South Wales Police confirmed that despite the rapid arrival of ambulance crews, the child could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene. The death is not being treated as suspicious.
A police spokesperson expressed condolences to the family, stating: "Despite an immediate response from ambulance crews and police the toddler was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. We wish to express our heartfelt condolences to the family during this difficult time."
Approximately seven emergency service vehicles attended the scene. The incident is separate from a tragic event off the East Yorkshire coast, where a mother, daughter, and a rescuer died after getting into difficulty in the sea.
