Molly-Mae Hague's Family Health Crisis: Bambi's Croup & Tommy Fury's Hospital Dash
Molly-Mae Hague's daughter Bambi has croup after hospital dash

Reality TV star and influencer Molly-Mae Hague has opened up about a distressing family health scare that saw both her young daughter and partner Tommy Fury rushed to hospital.

A Traumatic Week for the Family

The 26-year-old Love Island alum shared that her two-year-old daughter, Bambi, has been diagnosed with croup, a common but alarming childhood viral infection. The news comes after her partner, boxer Tommy Fury, also 26, was hospitalised suffering from a severe and persistent illness initially thought to be food poisoning.

Molly-Mae explained the situation in a recent YouTube vlog and on Instagram, detailing a harrowing period for the young family. Bambi is expected to be 'bed-bound' for a full week as she recovers, with the illness marking the first time the toddler has been so severely unwell.

Symptoms That Sparked Alarm

Describing the moments that prompted the hospital visit for Bambi, Molly-Mae recounted finding her daughter in a deeply concerning state. "I went to get Bambi out of her cot... she was asleep and crying in her sleep, she was shaking in her sleep. Tears were coming down her eyes, but she was asleep," she said.

Upon waking her, the situation escalated. "I could literally feel her heart pounding through her chest so quick. Her body was on fire, I took her temperature and it was 40 degrees," the concerned mother revealed. This high fever and the child's evident distress led to the urgent dash for medical care.

Tommy Fury's Prolonged Illness

The family's health troubles began with Tommy roughly nine days prior. What they first believed was a sickness bug or food poisoning failed to subside. Molly-Mae described a traumatic incident at 3 a.m. where Tommy was violently ill, stating, "his soul was leaving his body."

She expressed serious worry over his condition, noting he had been unable to keep food or liquid down for over a week. Tommy has lost a significant amount of weight, with Molly-Mae observing his face had become gaunt with dark circles under his eyes. His prolonged sickness, which she asserted "wasn't normal", was what necessitated his own hospital visit earlier in the week.

Winter Woes Catch Up With Molly-Mae

In a further update shared on Instagram alongside a photo of Bambi in pyjamas by the Christmas tree, Molly-Mae disclosed that the cycle of illness has now reached her too. "First daddy, then Bambi... and now me today. Body literally hurts to touch. Winter joys!!" she penned.

Summarising the exhausting week, she quipped that her chipped nail polish showed she was "hanging on by a thread". The influencer also reflected on the challenges of documenting such personal crises, questioning, "How do people vlog every day? You can't show every day, it's not realistic."

The NHS describes croup as an infection causing a distinctive barking cough, hoarseness, and a harsh sound when breathing in, often worsening at night. With Bambi on the mend but confined to bed, and both parents also battling illness, the family is facing a subdued and challenging start to the festive season.
