The Duchess of Cambridge has described the challenges of parenting and home schooling during lockdown as 'exhausting'. During a video call with parents from Roe Green Junior School in north-west London, Catherine said she felt 'pulled in so many different directions'.
The duchess joked about her three children recoiling in 'horror' when she had to cut their hair. She also rated her maths ability as minus five when asked by the head teacher.
Catherine urged people 'to reach out to loved ones and friends' if they were struggling or feeling isolated. She said parents had taken on additional roles during lockdown, such as hairdresser and teacher.
Parent Nicole Seidemann, who has four children, agreed with the duchess, saying she was 'definitely a full-time teacher right now'. The duchess said her husband William had been her main support during the pandemic.
