Boy, 5, Dies After Wall Collapse at Crazy Golf Party in South-East London

A five-year-old boy has died after a wall collapsed on him and another child during a crazy golf birthday party at Sidcup Family Golf in Chislehurst, south-east London. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, and the boy was airlifted to hospital by London Air Ambulance in a life-threatening condition. He died in hospital on Tuesday, 11 November.

A six-year-old girl was also injured in the collapse but has since been discharged from hospital. Eyewitnesses reported that the children were attending a birthday party at the time. The boy is understood to have sustained a head injury.

A spokesperson for Sidcup Family Golf expressed deep sadness, saying: 'We are deeply saddened to hear that the child injured on Sunday has tragically passed away. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the child’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.' The venue has remained closed since the incident and is co-operating fully with authorities.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were called at 17:44 on Sunday to reports of a child injured by a collapsing wall. Specialist officers are supporting the boy's family, who have asked for privacy. Enquiries are ongoing in collaboration with the Local Health and Safety Inspector.

London Air Ambulance dispatched a trauma team to the scene, treating two children before taking them to hospital. Staff at the centre rushed to help the injured children, according to an eyewitness.
