Jessie J and Kate Middleton Plan Charity Project After Cancer Bond
Jessie J and Kate Middleton Plan Charity Collaboration

In an exclusive revelation, singer Jessie J has confirmed that she and Catherine, Princess of Wales, are planning to collaborate on a new charity initiative. This news follows an emotional public encounter where the two women, both having faced cancer diagnoses, shared a heartfelt hug and conversation.

A Red Carpet Moment of Connection

The pivotal meeting occurred on Wednesday night at The Royal Variety Performance. Jessie J, 37, was seen embracing the Princess of Wales on the red carpet in a moment that resonated deeply with onlookers. The singer, whose real name is Jessica Cornish, later explained that the encounter was profoundly personal.

She described feeling not like her stage persona 'Jessie J', but simply as 'Jessica' in that moment. The singer was wearing a baggy black tracksuit, which she stated was a tribute to her close friend and security guard, Dave Last, who took his own life seven years ago. Her performance of the song I'll Never Know Why at the event was also dedicated to him.

Mum-to-Mum Support and Shared Experience

When asked about the hug with Princess Catherine, Jessie J expressed the depth of their connection. "It was lovely, honestly," she said. "I was just purely there to represent the people that feel lost and lonely and scared." She emphasised the importance of the Princess's work, stating it was "beautiful what they're doing" in speaking up for people who feel suicidal and alone.

The singer highlighted their common ground as mothers and as women who have battled cancer in the public eye. "I wanted to acknowledge that," she said, adding, "It was lovely to have a second to just, honestly, give another mama a hug." The Princess of Wales, 43, underwent preventative chemotherapy last year and is now in remission, while Jessie J underwent a mastectomy for breast cancer in June and has postponed her tour for a second operation.

Charity Collaboration Confirmed

The prospect of a formal collaboration moved from a possibility to a reality just 24 hours later. While speaking at the ZYN Rolling Stone UK Awards in London on Thursday night, Jessie J was asked if she would like to work with Princess Kate. She not only nodded affirmatively but revealed that discussions are already underway.

"100 per cent. We spoke about it last night," the singer confirmed. She stressed the critical mission driving their potential partnership: "The most important thing is to just keep talking about suicide and making sure that it's not something that people forget." Jessie J concluded with a powerful message that has clearly become her mantra, "I don't want people to feel alone alone. You know? They don't have to."

This planned joint project signals a significant alliance, merging royal influence with celebrity platform to champion mental health awareness and cancer support on a potentially global scale.
