Influencer Lorna Luxe, 43, has spoken about the prospect of becoming a widow in her forties following her husband John Andrews' terminal cancer diagnosis. The social media star, who has 1.6 million followers, revealed that John, 21 years her senior, is battling stage four adrenal cancer, diagnosed in April 2023.
Despite initial remission in November 2023, the cancer returned in May 2024 and has since spread to John's brain. A hospital dash before Christmas saw John suffer organ failure due to a chemotherapy complication and sepsis. Lorna told Fabulous magazine: 'It's been quite scary because we don't know how long we've got... We know we're on a timeline.'
The couple, who live in the £2.5 million Ghost House in Warwickshire, are making the most of their time together. Lorna admitted: 'Fundamentally, I'm probably going to be a widow at some point in my 40s and that's a bit of a scary place to be for any woman.' She noted that they are not discussing funerals, but have sorted their finances.
Lorna and John decided not to have children. She explained that while she tried to get pregnant in her 20s without success, now she feels it would be 'selfish' given John's illness. The couple previously took on £300,000 in debt to launch Lorna's influencer career, which now commands up to £80,000 per brand deal. However, Lorna says she is 'basically skint' after reinvesting £600,000 profits into her business.
