Davina McCall, 58, has married her partner Michael Douglas in a low-key ceremony, marking a joyful end to a year that included a breast cancer diagnosis and surgery. The couple exchanged vows on Friday in an intimate gathering of family and close friends, followed by a larger service the next day. Michael, a celebrity hairdresser, proposed during a trip to Ibiza just three months ago.
McCall revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in an emotional Instagram video in November, stating she had undergone a lumpectomy after finding a lump. She said she felt 'very angry' initially but was in a 'much more positive place' following the surgery at the Royal Marsden hospital. The cancer was caught early and successfully removed.
This health scare followed McCall's surgery in 2023 to remove a benign brain tumour, a colloid cyst, discovered during a health check-up. She described the tumour as 'very rare' and 'quite big' at 14mm wide, requiring removal to prevent future complications. She spent nine days in hospital recovering.
McCall has also been open about her past struggles with drug addiction, which began at age 14 with cocaine and escalated to heroin by her 16th birthday. A turning point came at age 24 when a friend confronted her, leading her to seek help. She has since adopted a health-conscious lifestyle.
