Bestselling novelist Colleen Hoover has shared joyous news with her fans, confirming she is officially free of cancer following a successful course of treatment.
A Positive Health Update Shared
The 46-year-old author, famed for novels like It Ends with Us and Regretting You, released a statement via Facebook to announce the positive outcome. According to a report by People, Hoover revealed that she has completed radiation therapy and declared 'all is well' with her health.
'I was diagnosed sometime last year, had surgery that was successful, just finished radiation yesterday,' Hoover explained in her post. She concluded with characteristic candour: 'I am done and good and all is well and has been well. My doctors doctored. Hell yeah.'
A Battle Kept Private
This uplifting update comes just one week after Hoover first publicly disclosed her diagnosis earlier this month. She initially shared the news by posting a selfie from hospital, where she wore a blue gown and her hair in a messy bun. 'I wish I could blame my hair and facial expressions on Texas Oncology, but they've been great,' she wrote at the time, while grimacing in the photo taken on her second to last day of radiation.
Hoover had hinted at a health issue late in 2025, when she missed major events tied to the release of the film adaptation of Regretting You. In October, she stated she was 'super bummed' but needed 'an unavoidable surgery' and could not travel.
In a separate Facebook post, she elaborated that the cancer had been 'removed through surgery' and would then be treated with radiation. 'While it felt huge and scary for a bit... I just wasn't ready to share with anyone until I knew what the outcome would be,' she wrote.
Advice to Fans and Professional Context
The author used her experience to urge her followers to be proactive about their health. Hoover strongly advised fans to 'listen to your body' and to seek medical advice if something feels 'off.'
Professionally, Hoover's recent success has been somewhat overshadowed by behind-the-scenes legal drama concerning the film adaptation of It Ends with Us. Lead actress Blake Lively filed a complaint accusing producer Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment, which he denied before filing a $400 million countersuit against Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds for defamation. Much of his countersuit was later dismissed by a judge, with a hearing scheduled for January 22 and a trial date set for May 18.
For now, however, the focus for Hoover and her legions of readers is firmly on her recovery and return to full health.
