
A celebratory Italian food festival has been shattered by a devastating suspected food poisoning incident that claimed the lives of two women and left several others fighting for their lives in hospital.
The tragedy unfolded in the town of Caivano, near Naples, after a group of friends consumed a batch of homemade guacamole. The dish, believed to be the source of the toxin, was prepared using avocados from a local market.
Fatal Consequences
The victims, identified as Antonella and Annamaria, both in their 50s, began to feel violently ill shortly after eating the dip. Their condition deteriorated rapidly, and despite being rushed to hospital, they tragically passed away.
