Molly-Mae's 'game-changing' Tatcha cream sells every minute
Molly-Mae's Tatcha cream sells every minute

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed that Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream is the key to her 'fresh' complexion, a luxurious 'line-plumping' moisturiser that reportedly sells every minute. The Maebe founder shared her approval on Instagram with a caption reading: "A fresh-faced Thursday. As always, using @tatcha Dewy Skin Cream".

Followers of the former Love Islander were quick to comment on how 'stunning' she appeared wearing just the Tatcha cream on its own. The product, which costs £69 for a full-sized pot (with a travel size from £26), boasts a 4.8-star rating and more than 7,300 reviews.

What the cream offers

The rich, moisturising cream provides plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for a dewy, healthy glow. It is formulated with Japanese botanicals, including Japanese Purple Rice and the complex Hadasei-3TM, clinically shown to diminish the appearance of dry, fine lines in as little as two weeks. It also contains Biomimetic Squalane, Hyaluronic Acid and Red Algae.

Clinical findings revealed it increased skin hydration by 225% after a single application; 100% demonstrated instant enhancement in skin plumpness, suppleness, and luminosity after one use; and 88% of trial participants exhibited an improvement in the visibility of dry fine lines after two weeks.

Reviewer experience

Bethan Shufflebotham, who sampled the cream after being inspired by Molly-Mae, said: "I have dry skin, and particularly in the warmer weather, I need something that acts like a tall glass of water for my skin, and The Dewy Skin Cream does exactly that. While many opt for lightweight gel formulas in summer, this is a thicker, richer formula that delivers the required hydration without feeling heavy."

She added: "Despite being rich, I find that it sinks into my skin beautifully rather than sitting on top of it. My personal favourite time to apply it is in the evenings before bed so that I can wake up to a fresh, plump face. That said, it works just as well as a morning moisturiser, sits well under makeup, and provides a flawless, hydrated base for foundation."

Bethan noted the main drawback is the cost, with a standard 50ml jar retailing at £69, or £65 for the refill and £97 for the XL pot. However, she observed: "But after using it for the last few months, it actually works out around £23 per month if applied once daily, as a little goes a long way with this cream."

Alternative options

For a more affordable option, the LANEIGE Water Bank Blue Hyaluronic Cream Moisturiser 50ml is currently £26.80 at Boots, reduced from £33.50. Enriched with Blue Hyaluronic Acid, Algae Extract, and ceramides, this nourishing cream strengthens the moisture barrier and secures up to 100 hours of intensive hydration.

Another firm favourite amongst skincare enthusiasts is Charlotte Tilbury's Magic Cream, a premium purchase at £79 for a 50ml jar. Described as a 'facelift in a jar', it is formulated with a 'world first' RecoverstemTM Peptide, Cushion + Lift Mesh Technology and skin barrier-strengthening Ectoin that revitalises the appearance of the skin and addresses the look of 10 visible signs of skin ageing.

While many beauty enthusiasts have praised Tatcha's Dewy Skin Cream, claiming their complexion has 'never felt or looked better', one three-star review highlighted that it may not suit all complexions. The customer, who described having 'dry skin that's prone to blackheads and acne', stated: "This product has a nice skin feel, but did worsen breakouts. When I used this during the day, I had new whiteheads on my forehead and chin. My skin was definitely softer, but instead of Dewy, I was just greasy."
