Victoria Beckham's 240-Calorie 'Biblical' Breakfast Could Leave Her 'Peckish', Nutritionists Warn

Victoria Beckham has shared a glimpse of her daily breakfast, a heart-shaped avocado toast prepared by her husband David Beckham. The meal, which she affectionately captioned 'When daddy makes breakfast,' features smashed avocado on Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Wholegrain Bread, a choice she previously described as a family favourite.

Registered Nutritionist Charlotte Faure Green told HELLO! that the breakfast, estimated at 240 to 250 calories, is 'nutritionally solid' but could leave the former Spice Girl 'peckish.' She noted that avocado provides monounsaturated fats, fibre, potassium, folate, and vitamins E and K, while the olive oil adds anti-inflammatory compounds. The sprouted grain bread, she explained, offers better mineral absorption and a gentler blood sugar response compared to regular bread.

However, Helen Ruckledge of FadFree Nutrition questioned the value of the 'biblical' bread, stating that its nutritional profile is similar to standard supermarket seeded bread but costs over six times more per 100g. 'It may be better for people to save their hard-earned cash to buy more fruit and vegetables,' she advised.

Both nutritionists agreed that the meal lacks sufficient protein to keep Victoria full until lunch. 'Unless someone is very sedentary or has very low calorie requirements, this breakfast is unlikely to provide sufficient calories to fuel their morning,' Helen warned. Charlotte suggested adding two poached eggs or smoked salmon for complete protein, while Helen recommended chicken or feta cheese as good additions.

Victoria's friend Eva Longoria revealed in a MailOnline interview that the pair often share a breakfast of egg whites and avocado, which would add around 60 calories from the egg whites to the avocado's 240 calories. Jenna Hope, registered nutritionist and author, also commented on the meal's nutritional value.
