From Flight to Hospital Ward

The 63-year-old businessman fell critically ill while travelling on a flight from Mauritius to Dubai. Initially, he feared he was suffering from a heart attack or a severe bout of Covid-19 after becoming unwell mid-air. However, following his admission to hospital, doctors delivered the diagnosis of chronic pneumonia, which they described as an extremely dangerous condition.

Lineker's situation was grave enough to require immediate treatment in an intensive care unit. He spent a total of ten days in intensive care under close medical supervision before his condition stabilised sufficiently to be moved.

A Long Road to Recovery Ahead

Currently, Wayne Lineker is receiving ongoing care in a respiratory ward. In an update shared with his followers on Instagram, he confirmed he is now out of the danger zone and intensive care. Despite this positive step, the road to full health remains long and challenging.

The illness has left a significant physical toll. Lineker revealed he is currently unable to walk and has been advised that he will need an extensive period of rehabilitation. He is now facing at least two months of intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation to regain his strength and mobility.
