Asda Recalls George Home Seat Pads Over Fire Risk

Asda has issued an urgent recall for George Home Square Seat Pads, warning they pose a fire risk. The supermarket, with over 1,000 stores across the UK, announced the recall on December 12, urging customers to return the product for a full refund without needing a receipt.

The seat pads, sold between 2020 and 2025 in packs of two, may not comply with fire and furnishing regulations. Asda found that the filling might not be fire retardant, meaning it could catch fire and continue to flame if exposed to a naked flame. The recall applies to all colours and designs.

Customers are advised to bring the seat pads to their nearest Asda store for a full refund. The company apologised for any inconvenience caused. The Office for Product Safety and Standards highlighted that the internal filling poses a fire hazard.

This recall follows a separate one for George Ladies Double Buckle Flatbed Sandals in lilac and sage, which were found to have excessive nickel content, posing a serious chemical risk.
