Rylan Clark's Mum Linda Hospitalised with Fractured Shoulder After Icy Fall
Rylan Clark's mum Linda hospitalised after icy fall

BBC Radio 2 presenter Rylan Clark has shared that his mother, Linda Clark, is recovering from a fractured shoulder after a nasty fall outside her Essex home.

An Icy Mishap Leads to Hospital Visit

The 72-year-old, well-known to fans from appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox, took a tumble while putting out her rubbish. She mistook a patch of ice for water, leading to the accident. Speaking live on her son's radio show on Saturday, Linda recounted the moment, telling listeners, "I just went flying and I hurt my arm again."

Rylan confirmed the injury was a fractured shoulder. Linda described her arm as being "black" from bruising and "so sore." The presenter revealed he received an early morning phone call informing him his mum was on her way to hospital.

A History of Unfortunate Falls

This is not the first health scare Linda has faced in recent years. Rylan reminded her it "could've been worse," referencing a previous serious accident. In 2023, while on holiday in Spain, she suffered breaks to both her arm and leg in what was described as a "nightmare fall." That incident required a private medical flight back to the UK and a significant recovery period during which Rylan paused work commitments to care for her.

Prior to that, in June of last year, Linda fell down an escalator in a store, an incident that left Rylan furious when the retailer charged her £2.50 for replacement flip-flops after her shoes were filled with blood.

Listener Support and a Plea to Rest

During the broadcast, Rylan urged his notoriously active mother to "be careful" and rest, insisting, "I need you to not make it any worse." Linda, however, admitted she "can't do nothing" and had already attempted to do some washing, much to her son's dismay.

The radio host took a moment to thank the flood of supportive messages from concerned listeners. "So many of you getting in touch, thank you, yeah she is alright by the way," he said. He reassured fans that while it was a painful accident, "she is being well looked after" as she recovers.

Rylan Clark's BBC Radio 2 show airs on Saturdays from 3pm.
