Love Island finalist Millie Court has revealed her long struggle with severe acne, sharing a candid video on TikTok just before entering the All Stars villa. The 29-year-old, who placed second in the final with her American boyfriend, described how cystic acne left her feeling anxious and self-conscious.
In the video, Millie explained that her skin issues were triggered by heartbreak and a contraceptive implant that her body rejected. After spending heavily on treatments and skincare, she realised the solution had to come from within. Once the implant was removed, her skin improved, but acne returned during another period of heartbreak.
Millie turned to Roaccutane (isotretinoin), a powerful prescription medication for severe acne. The drug reduces oil production to prevent blocked pores and deep breakouts, but requires strict monitoring due to side effects like dryness, joint aches, and nosebleeds. She described the treatment as mentally challenging but life-changing.
Now off Roaccutane, Millie maintains her skin with a careful routine including a vitamin C serum with niacinamide and salicylic acid, a hydrating moisturiser, daily SPF, and a lip balm for dryness. She acknowledges that acne could return but says she has a healthier attitude: 'I've come so far from the insecure girl I was.'
