A London man who holds a medically verified claim to possessing one of the world's largest penises is openly inviting other men to try and outdo him. Matt Barr, 42, has spoken candidly about the realities of his life with the unique attribute, which measures over 11 inches, more than double the UK average.
The Search for a Credible Challenger
Despite his distinctive status, Matt Barr has actively encouraged others to come forward. For approximately a year and a half, he has welcomed potential 'challengers' via his website, hoping to connect with other men who share his rare condition. He expressed disappointment that, so far, no credible contenders have emerged.
"Unfortunately, there haven't been any credible contenders," Barr explained. The closest he has come is correspondence with an American man who underwent surgery and regular silicone injections to achieve a size of nearly 10 inches. Barr noted that while their paths to size differed, they shared many common experiences and have become friends.
He also addressed famous claims, like that of Roberto Esquivel Cabrera who alleged an 18.9-inch penis. Barr pointed out that an X-ray revealed the actual organ was 6 to 7 inches, with the remainder being stretched excess skin. The Londoner expressed frustration that Guinness World Records does not track penis size, as he would relish the opportunity to obtain an official certificate.
From London to a Museum in Iceland
Public fascination with Barr's story has led to an unusual honour: a cast of his manhood is now on display at The Icelandic Phallological Museum. The museum, which heard about his measurements from a urological study, approached him to create the exhibit, which has been publicly shown for about a year.
Describing the casting process as "obviously a little awkward, but flattering," Barr highlighted the exclusive company he now keeps. "The only non-Icelandic ones are of me and Jimi Hendrix," he said, "which is a good person to be on the same level as!"
The Downsides of a Life in the Spotlight
While his condition has brought him notoriety and a museum feature, Barr has previously admitted the significant challenges it presents. Everyday life requires careful management to avoid unwanted attention or misunderstanding.
"You can hide it. It's not impossible, it's just a lot of hard work," he shared. He emphasised that people often mistake his natural state for showing off, leading to "evil looks" in public despite him not intentionally drawing attention.
The fundamental question of why he measures so large remains unanswered. Barr hopes that one day medical science might provide clarity, whether it's linked to genetics, a rare condition, or simple chance. "Nobody knows why," he stated. "It would be good to know."
For context, the average erect penis size is reported to be between 5.1 and 5.5 inches, with a girth of around 4.59 inches. This data, based on professional studies, contrasts sharply with the common overestimates fuelled by self-reported figures. Barr's documented experiences are detailed in his book, "A Long Story: Life With One Of The World’s Largest Penises."
