Ex-Apprentice Doctor Struck Off for Antisemitic and Sexist Social Media Posts
Former NHS Doctor Struck Off Over Hateful Posts

A former NHS doctor who appeared on BBC's The Apprentice has been permanently removed from the medical register after posting a series of deeply offensive antisemitic, racist, and sexist comments on social media.

A Catalogue of Offensive Online Content

Dr Asif Munaf, 37, who also uses the name Mohammed, failed to appear before a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) hearing which examined the charges against him. The tribunal heard details of numerous posts made on X, formerly Twitter, between 2023 and 2025.

His reposts and original comments included claims that Israel was a 'Nazi state' that had 'forfeited any right to exist', and that Zionists were 'today's Nazis'. One particularly abhorrent post in June 2025 stated: '9/11 wasn't an inside job. Let's call it for what it really is. A Jewish job.'

Other posts made vile assertions about Jewish people having 'no limits to their depravity', being 'sick in the head', and possessing 'a genocidal impulse'. One comment crudely and offensively referenced the Holocaust and North London bagel shops.

Racist and Sexist Remarks and Professional Misconduct

The doctor's misconduct extended beyond antisemitism. He used a racist slur to describe former world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather and made a series of sexist statements. Dr Munaf claimed women 'should not be pilots' and described female empowerment as 'one of the great tricks of Satan'.

Harriet Tighe, representing the General Medical Council (GMC), told the hearing the posts were 'objectively antisemitic and/or seriously offensive, and motivated by racial or religious hostility and/or prejudice'. She added they were also racist and objectively sexist.

The tribunal found Dr Munaf had breached conditions placed on his registration in August 2024, which ordered him not to abuse or discriminate against any group when expressing beliefs online. It was proven he posted offensive content on 36 separate occasions.

Dismissal from TV and Erasure from Medical Register

Dr Munaf's online activity led to his dismissal. He was fired from episode seven of The Apprentice's 2024 series and subsequently axed from the spin-off show You're Fired after the Board of Deputies of British Jews complained to the BBC about his 'despicable antisemitism'.

Professionally, his conduct was equally questionable. Booked for a locum cardiology role at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in January 2024, he 'acted inappropriately' by vanishing just hours into the position. He also improperly provided a sick note to a patient in November 2024 while under suspension.

The tribunal concluded the public would be rightly concerned by his actions and that he 'posed a current and ongoing risk to the health, safety and wellbeing of the public', leading to his erasure from the medical register.

Dr Munaf had set up an online service, Dr Sick Ltd, which claimed to 'beat the GP wait' and provide sick notes 'in as little as two hours'. Reports suggested the service sold notes for extended time off without proper consultation. He also ran the now-defunct 'University of Masculinity' website, which retweeted content from controversial figure Andrew Tate.

In a statement in January 2024, Dr Munaf apologised for any offence, calling his language 'ill-judged & emotional'. A GMC spokesperson stated unequivocally: 'There is no place for antisemitism, sexism or misogyny in medicine, and we will always seek to strike off doctors for such conduct.'
