Jeremy Clarkson, the former Top Gear presenter, managed to talk his way out of a parking ticket in London after leaving his bright green Lamborghini on yellow lines. The incident occurred on Sunday, 26 April 2015, when a traffic warden recognised the 55-year-old and engaged in a friendly conversation with him, ultimately walking away without issuing a ticket.
Clarkson had parked the eye-catching supercar, which bears Italian number plates, while he inspected a black Ferrari Pininfarina 275 with two acquaintances. After spending around 15 minutes examining the Ferrari, he drove off in his Lamborghini. Earlier, he had been spotted at Stamford Bridge, cheering on Chelsea during their 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
The parking incident comes shortly after Clarkson was sacked by the BBC last month following a physical altercation with producer Olsin Tymon. Tymon suffered a split lip in the assault on 4 March but declined to press charges, and police confirmed they would not pursue the matter further. Clarkson has also revealed he had a cancer scare around the same time.
Meanwhile, Clarkson's former Top Gear colleagues Richard Hammond and James May have confirmed they will not return to the show without him. Hammond, speaking at a charity bike rally on Friday, described the future as 'exciting' but refused to speculate on the fate of the programme. There is mounting speculation that the trio may collaborate on a new motoring series for Netflix, Amazon, or another British broadcaster.
