Alison Hammond leaves This Morning after feeling unwell on air

Alison Hammond was suddenly taken off-air during Friday's This Morning after feeling unwell, with co-host Dermot O'Leary confirming she would not return for the rest of the show.

The presenter was hosting the programme with Dermot O'Leary when she was heard being taken out of the studio during a phone-in between viewers and Dr Scott. The TV vet appeared concerned before carrying on with the show.

When Alison didn't return, Dermot explained her absence to viewers, saying she was feeling "unwell". He later confirmed after a break that she wouldn't be returning to the show, adding: "Ali's feeling a little unwell so I'll be here for the rest of the show," reports the Mirror.

The Express has contacted ITV for comment.

Viewers share support

Viewers rushed to share their support for the presenter, and took to her social media posts to leave comments. One wrote: "Okay now I'm worried. Are you okay Alison? I was just watching This Morning."

Another said: "We love you Queen, hope you’re ok." Someone else added: "I hope you’re ok. We’re all worried here."

Alison Hammond's career

Alison has become a firm favourite with fans, after rising to fame on Big Brother in 2022. She went on to appear on Strictly Come Dancing, and now hosts The Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding and Channel 4's For the Love of Dogs.

In a previous interview with Stylist, the This Morning host spoke about her career dreams: "I love my job and I’m good at it. But I’ve always got plans, things I want to do next."

"I can’t tell you how many times I’ve asked for my own show," she continued. "That’s what I want, a show called Alison. It might get to the point where I just make it myself."
