The vet shared their experience on Reddit, describing the distress caused when animals spend their last moments searching for their owners.
The post highlights a particularly harrowing case where a dog, despite being given treats and affection by the vet, continuously cried and tried to walk to the door after its owners left. 'The focus was always, 'where did they go?'' the vet wrote, adding that it is 'f***ing depressing' to witness a dog looking for its owner in its final moments.
