Richard Hammond has given a two-word verdict on Jeremy Clarkson's health, saying the former Top Gear host is "alive" after his battle with prostate cancer. Clarkson, 66, was diagnosed with the disease earlier this year and is now in remission.
Hammond's Update on Clarkson's Condition
Speaking on Times Radio, Hammond was asked how his former colleague was doing. He said: "I believe he's fine. It was some distance in the past, because obviously there's a time lag between when the show happened and when they're seen on the show. But no I believe he's very well, he's still irritating, all of those things. Generally speaking it means he's alive."
The update comes after Clarkson revealed his cancer diagnosis, which followed heart surgery in 2024 to have stents fitted. Since going public with his illness, Clarkson has urged men to get tested for prostate cancer.
Clarkson's Own Words on His Diagnosis
Earlier this summer, Clarkson opened up to The Times about how close he came to a worse outcome. He said: "I am without a doubt, officially, the world's luckiest man. It was an aggressive type of cancer. It could have spread, it could have gone into the pancreas, it could have gone anywhere, and that would have been trouble."
In a video shared on Instagram, he added: "You will have noticed that I'm not dead. The reason why I'm fine is because the doctors caught the prostate cancer early, and they caught it early because I got tested."
Clarkson's Farm Struggles Amid Heatwave
Meanwhile, Clarkson has shared a concerning update on his Diddly Squat Farm as the UK faces another heatwave, with temperatures predicted to exceed 35C. He posted a BBC weather forecast showing highs of 29C in Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire, on August 9.
He wrote: "Harvest already f****d. May as well just enjoy it now." One fan commented: "I haven't stopped thinking about all farmers this summer. The countless heatwaves have ruined food production and we're going to be feeling the pinch sooner rather than later."
