Prince William issues emotional statement on mental health

Prince William has shared an emotional message to mark World Mental Health Day, highlighting the first anniversary of The Royal Foundation's National Suicide Prevention Network (NSPN).

Since its launch on October 10 last year, NSPN funding has allowed partners to support more than 500 people across the UK and deliver over 3,000 interventions, including helpline calls, one-to-one counselling and peer support groups.

Prince's message on reaching out

In a statement posted on Kensington Palace's social media channels, the Prince of Wales said: "Every day in the UK, around 20 people die by suicide. Behind every number is a person, a family and people who love them. If you’re worried about someone, reach out. Ask how they’re really doing. Listen. Let them know they’re not alone. One conversation can change everything. W."

The message comes as the network completes its first year of operation, with the funding enabling support services to expand their reach across the country.
