A mother of three from Hemel Hempstead has lost 10 stone 7 pounds after spending £2,000 on weight loss injections, reversing her pre-diabetes diagnosis. Tina Bashford, 41, weighed 23 stone 7 pounds and wore a size 26 before starting Mounjaro in June 2024.
Ms Bashford had struggled with obesity since her early teens and tried numerous diets, including Slimming World, WeightWatchers, and keto, but always returned to comfort eating. After the birth of her third daughter in 2022, her weight peaked and she developed arthritis in her right knee.
When doctors advised weight loss surgery abroad and diagnosed her as pre-diabetic, Ms Bashford decided to try Mounjaro injections. She lost 1 stone 2 pounds in the first month and continued for 16 months, now weighing 12 stone 6 pounds and wearing a size 12-14.
Ms Bashford said the injections 'stopped the food noise' and helped her overhaul her diet and exercise habits, including walking 10,000 steps daily and swimming. Her pre-diabetes has reversed, and she no longer has knee pain.
She said: 'I feel 21 again. Now I can run around with my daughter, go on bike rides, and fly without using a seatbelt extender.' She plans to gradually stop using the injections and keeps one old T-shirt as a reminder of her transformation.
