Gogglebox star Tremaine Plummer has spoken about his devastating battle with bowel cancer, describing it as “one of the worst things that could have happened to me” which ultimately became “one of the best”. The 35-year-old, who appears on the Channel 4 show alongside his brothers Twaine and Tristan, shared a post-surgery photo on Instagram marking five years cancer-free.
Tremaine, the eldest of the trio, joined Gogglebox in 2016 and quickly became a fan favourite for his witty banter. Away from television, he presents a breakfast radio show on Bristol's Ujima FM. His brother Tristan enjoyed a professional football career from 2007, while Twaine also has a son.
In 2020, Tremaine celebrated being cancer-free after undergoing surgery for bowel cancer. He wrote on Instagram: “When I first saw this photo it made me feel sick and weak. I hated this photo for a long time. But now this photo is my medal. This was me 5 years ago. Post-surgery for bowel cancer.” He added: “Out of some bad s*** comes good s***. The entire experience has been an eye-opener and I view life totally different now.”
Sadly, in 2021, the brothers lost both their parents. Tristan paid tribute to their mother on Instagram, writing: “This One Hurts Posting, This R.I.P. My Queen, Still In Shock.. April 8, 2021.”
