The mother of a 15-year-old boy who died after being stabbed at a Sheffield school has shared his final words to her as he left home on the morning of the attack.
Harvey Willgoose was fatally injured at All Saints Catholic High School on Monday. A court later heard he was stabbed in the heart with a hunting knife.
Speaking to the BBC, his mother Caroline said his last words to her were "I love you". She described her son as "the life and soul of the party" and said she feared going to sleep to avoid reliving the tragedy.
A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Sheffield Youth Court on Wednesday charged with murder, possession of a bladed article and affray. He was remanded into youth detention and is due to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday.
Tributes have been left at Bramall Lane stadium and at the school. A mass service will be held at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Handsworth. In a family statement, Harvey's relatives said they were "utterly heartbroken" and described him as a "beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin, nephew and best friend".
