Coronation Street: Sam's Psychosis Leads to Dangerous Confrontation

Coronation Street spoilers reveal what Sam does next as his mental health crisis worsens, leading to a devastating turn of events. The teenager, played by Jude Riordan, has been struggling ever since he learned that Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) was being exploited by his coach and teacher, Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).

Sam's Hallucinations Intensify

In recent weeks, Sam's psychological condition has deteriorated significantly. He has been experiencing delusions that Will is stalking and menacing him. Additionally, Sam has begun to see apparitions of his friend Roy Cropper (David Neilson). While the real Roy is known for his tender, compassionate, and nurturing nature, the version of Roy that inhabits Sam's thoughts offers perilous guidance, even encouraging Sam to seize control and eliminate Will permanently.

Monday's Episode: A Dangerous Warning

In Monday's episode (June 8), Sam insisted that he is not a violent person. However, the hallucinated Roy branded him a coward and announced that their friendship was over. The apparition then revealed that he had interfered with Will's water bottle before a race. Worried about Will's wellbeing, Sam knocked the water bottle from Will's grasp and refilled it for him.

Later This Week: A Terrifying Escalation

Matters take an alarming twist later this week. As Sam pictures Roy beside him, whispering in his ear, he makes his way to the Rovers Return, where he discovers Will alone in the back room. While Will is absorbed in a shooting game, Sam hears Roy cautioning him that Will is going to murder him as well. Panicked, Sam bolts, and a worried Will chases after him. Sam rushes into the cafe and secures the door behind him.

Will pounds on the door while inside, Roy discovers Sam in a dreadful condition. Sam recoils at the sight of him, completely bewildered by the fact that he can see two versions of Roy: the real Roy and the hallucinated Roy.

Family and Friends Rally

As Nick (Ben Price), Toyah (Georgia Taylor), and Leanne (Jane Danson) gather outside, pleading with Sam to allow them entry, the situation becomes increasingly tense. Could Roy face peril from an increasingly distraught Sam?

Later, as the search for Sam continues, Carla Connor (Alison King) notices him in the precinct. Observing the terror etched across Sam's face, Carla attempts to comfort him while reaching for her mobile. After ringing Nick, Carla tries to calm an agitated Sam, but when Nick and David appear, Sam flees. Profoundly distressed, Carla reveals that she believes Sam is experiencing psychosis.

What's Next for Sam?

Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX. Viewers are left wondering whether Sam will harm himself or others, and if the real Roy can help him before it's too late.
