Coronation Street spoilers have confirmed what happens next to Sam Blakeman, and it is truly heartbreaking. The young character, played by Jude Riordan, has been struggling ever since he discovered that his friend Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) was being groomed by coach Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon). In recent weeks, Sam's mental state has deteriorated significantly, leading to hallucinations where he believes Will is following and threatening him. He has also started seeing visions of his friend Roy Cropper (David Neilson), but this version of Roy is far from the gentle, kind man viewers know.
Sam's Hallucinations Intensify
In Monday's episode (June 8), Sam asserted that he is not a violent person, but the hallucinated Roy accused him of cowardice and declared their friendship over. The vision then claimed he had tampered with Will's water bottle ahead of a race. Fearing for Will's safety, Sam knocked the bottle from Will's hand and refilled it. However, things take a worrying turn later this week. As Sam envisions Roy at his side, he heads to the Rovers Return, where he finds Will alone in the back room.
A Terrifying Confrontation
While Will is engrossed in a shooting game, Sam hears Roy warning him that Will is going to kill him too. Sam flees, and a concerned Will follows. Sam dashes into the cafe and locks the door behind him. Inside, he sees two versions of Roy: the real Roy and the vision Roy. As Nick (Ben Price), Toyah (Georgia Taylor), and Leanne (Jane Danson) gather outside begging Sam to let them in, the question arises: could Roy be in danger from an increasingly distressed Sam?
Search for Sam Continues
Later, as the search for Sam continues, Carla Connor (Alison King) spots him in the precinct. Noticing the fear on his face, she tries to reassure him while reaching for her phone. She calls Nick, but when Nick and David appear, Sam makes a run for it. Deeply upset, Carla explains she thinks Sam is suffering from psychosis.
Coronation Street airs Monday to Friday at 8:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
