Vogue Williams Opens Up About Pregnancy and Husband's Fitness Regime
Television personality Vogue Williams has candidly shared details about her fourth pregnancy, revealing that her husband, Spencer Matthews, intensifies his fitness routine during her pregnancies. The couple, who announced the happy news during a family holiday in St Barts last week, posed for a playful photo where Spencer humorously pushed out his stomach in solidarity with his wife.
Competitive Spirit and Family Excitement
During an appearance on This Morning, hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley joked about the photo, asking if Spencer was the one pregnant. Vogue laughed it off, stating, 'No! He is too obsessed with his looks.' She added, 'I feel like he gets more ripped when I am pregnant just to spite me.' At 40 years old and expecting with 37-year-old Spencer, Vogue expressed she is in a stage of pregnancy where she feels great, attributing her glow to abstaining from alcohol.
The mother of three—Theodore, seven, Gigi, five, and Otto, three—noted that her children are thrilled about the new addition. 'We've never had that because they've always been so close in age, it's always passed them by,' she said, mentioning that Otto even expressed a desire to return to her tummy.
Emotional Journey Through Miscarriages
In a heartfelt YouTube video posted on Sunday, Vogue spoke publicly for the first time about her pregnancy and the challenges she has faced. She revealed that she suffered two miscarriages, which left her feeling like her body had failed her. The first miscarriage occurred at around four weeks, which she described as 'really upsetting,' but the couple went on to welcome their daughter Gigi in 2020.
Last year, Vogue experienced further heartache when a 12-week scan revealed that the pregnancy was not viable, as the embryo had not grown. She admitted feeling 'really embarrassed' and 'upset' by the loss, explaining that she had told family and colleagues about the pregnancy before the scan. 'I just hadn't told the kids,' she added, highlighting the emotional toll.
Nervousness and Hope for the Future
Vogue shared that these experiences have made her 'nervous' throughout her current pregnancy. She expressed gratitude for symptoms like nausea, as they reassure her that the pregnancy is progressing. 'I just thought that I would tell that story and hopefully it helps other people who that happens to and there can be light at the end of the tunnel,' she said, offering support to others in similar situations.
Reflecting on the decision to try again, Vogue admitted, 'I wasn't sure if we wanted to try again, because I just felt like, I really don't want to have to go through that again.' However, she is now hopeful, stating, 'I just feel lucky that we're able to be here now and be pregnant again.' The couple, who married in 2018, continue to navigate this journey with resilience and openness.
