Katie Price has revealed she suffered a miscarriage after falling pregnant over the Christmas period with her boyfriend, Married At First Sight UK star JJ Slater. The 46-year-old TV star and former model had been open about her desire to expand her family, having five children already.
Price, who had just a one per cent chance of conceiving naturally, discovered she was pregnant on Boxing Day after noticing a missed period. She experienced symptoms including sore breasts, nausea, moodiness and bloating. However, scans later showed the baby was no longer alive, leaving the couple devastated.
Speaking to The Sun, Price said: 'I did loads of pregnancy tests because I wanted to be sure, and JJ kept asking me if it was real. He was so, so excited.' She added: 'We went to a clinic for blood tests and a scan and the scan showed where the baby was, but that it wasn't alive any more. It's been devastating.'
Price has now teamed up with Tommy's, a pregnancy and miscarriage charity, to raise awareness for mothers who have experienced similar grief. She has suffered three miscarriages previously, as well as an ectopic pregnancy.
Despite the loss, Price has expressed her desire for more children, stating she is 'not done' and would consider IVF or surrogacy. She recently revealed she may be perimenopausal, with tests showing her eggs are 'quite old now'.
