The Traitors star Elen Wyn has revealed she has two wombs and two cervixes, in addition to battling endometriosis. The 25-year-old Welsh opera singer, known for her role as a faithful on the BBC show, shared her health journey in a recent interview.
Elen explained that she pushed for an endometriosis diagnosis, but doctors discovered something unexpected during tests. She described her struggles with the healthcare system before finally receiving a diagnosis in 2024, noting that the pain can be so severe she cannot walk and feels like she is being stabbed.
Speaking on the It's Not JUST a Period! podcast, Elen recounted a confusing ultrasound where the doctor could not locate her cervix. An MRI later revealed she has one kidney, two wombs, and two cervixes. A gynaecologist drew a diagram to help her understand her anatomy.
Despite having one fallopian tube and one ovary attached to each womb, both are functioning, and Elen can carry a child. She also experiences only one period. She is grateful for the discovery, as it led to her endometriosis diagnosis. Elen first sought help for pain at age 14 but was told it was normal and she had a low pain tolerance.
After moving to Cardiff and requesting a female GP, she was referred to a specialist. However, she is still waiting for a laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, having been initially left off the referral list, which reset her waiting time.
