Aoife Bird (née Oates), originally from Co Waterford but living in Longwood, Meath, tragically passed away on Wednesday, November 26th, from a sudden illness. Her death came just one day after her newborn daughter, Ailbhe, died on Tuesday, November 25th.

The young mother was surrounded by her heartbroken family at the Regional Hospital Mullingar when she passed. A death notice posted on RIP.ie confirmed the devastating news that has left both the local community and the school where she taught in mourning.

Family Left Heartbroken

Aoife is survived by her loving husband Jim and their baby boy Daithí, who now face an unimaginable future without both his mother and newborn sister.

Her devastated parents Peter and Margaret, sisters Siobhan, Aisling and Róisín, and brother Shane are among the many family members grieving this profound loss. The tragedy has also deeply affected her mother-in-law Veronica, grandparents Micheal and Kathleen, and brothers-in-law Ryan, Jack, Charley and Lee.
