Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell and her partner Joe Sugg have revealed that they have already chosen a name for their unborn son, though they are keeping it under wraps for now. The couple, who met on the BBC show in 2018, shared the update in a YouTube video posted on 27 October.
In the video, Dianne, who is the first pregnant dancer on Strictly, admitted that announcing her pregnancy was the most nervous she had ever been, particularly telling her family. Joe agreed, saying breaking the news to loved ones was daunting, and revealed that Dianne's father initially thought they were joking.
The couple offered hints about the chosen name, describing it as unique but not unusual, and capable of being shortened. Joe joked that from now on, they would refer to the baby as 'Derek' to avoid accidentally revealing the real name before the due date, which they are also keeping private.
Dianne and Joe announced their pregnancy in September with an Instagram video showing stick figures of themselves and a baby. Since then, Dianne has continued dancing, responding to critics by posting a video of herself doing a cartwheel, saying she 'can't help it when I hear the beat.'
