Love Island star Shaughna Phillips has revealed she experienced a pregnancy scare after waking up with intense Braxton Hicks contractions, fearing she was going into labour. The 31-year-old, who is expecting her second child with partner Billy Webb, shared the update with fans on Instagram.
Phillips, who appeared on the ITV2 show in 2020, posted a video explaining that she woke up at 2am with the most intense Braxton Hicks she has had. 'I was sh***ing my pants. I was like 'this is it'. Thankfully it wasn't,' she said. Braxton Hicks are described by the NHS as 'practice contractions'.
The reality star also shared a selfie showcasing her baby bump, wearing a brown top and jeans. She is already mother to daughter Lucia, two, with Webb. The couple announced they were expecting their second child in June.
Phillips' partner Billy Webb was serving a nine-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to drug charges in 2023. He was recently released from an open prison, and Phillips shared a photo of them together last week, captioning it 'It all worked out.'
In a previous interview with the Mirror, Phillips said they wouldn't have tried for another baby if Webb wasn't going to be there for the birth. She expressed curiosity about how he would react during labour, noting he is 'not good with blood AT ALL.'
