Former Love Island contestant Shaughna Phillips has bravely opened up about her upcoming birth plans, revealing she is opting for a planned C-section this time around. The decision comes after the traumatic delivery of her first child, daughter Lucia, which left her suffering a severe haemorrhage.
A Painful Memory
Shaughna, who rose to fame on the 2020 winter series of Love Island, recounted the distressing experience of Lucia's birth. "It was the most terrifying moment of my life," she admitted. "I remember feeling completely helpless as everything spiralled out of control."
Choosing Safety
Now expecting her second child, the 29-year-old has made the conscious decision to schedule a C-section to avoid a repeat of the trauma. "After what happened with Lucia, I knew I couldn't go through that again," she explained. "This time, I want everything to be as calm and controlled as possible."
Raising Awareness
By sharing her story, Shaughna hopes to shed light on the realities of difficult births and the importance of maternal health. "So many women suffer in silence," she said. "If my experience can help even one person feel less alone, then it's worth speaking out."
The reality star has been documenting her pregnancy journey on social media, where she's received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow mums.
