Former Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt has opened up about her personal plans for the year ahead, following the heartbreaking revelation that she suffered a miscarriage in 2025.
A New Year Focused on Peace
On 2 January 2026, Moffatt posted a series of family photos to Instagram, showing herself, her fiancé Scott Dobinson, and their son Jude enjoying a New Year roast dinner. In a poignant caption, the TV personality outlined her mindset for the coming months.
"I can’t control everything. But I can choose what I give my energy to. 2026, I’m choosing peace," she wrote.
The post garnered supportive comments from famous friends, including Strictly Come Dancing professional Karen Hauer and soap star Beverley Callard. Vito Coppola, who was Moffatt's dance partner for the Strictly Christmas special, also responded with heart emojis.
The Heartbreak Behind the Headlines
This hopeful look forward comes just days after Scarlett bravely shared a deeply personal loss with The Sun. She explained that she and Scott were "really excited" to discover they were expecting a second child, two years after the birth of their son Jude.
Tragically, the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, which Moffatt described as "soul-destroying." The couple made the difficult decision not to try for another baby, a choice compounded by the fact it took over three years to conceive Jude.
"I was lying in bed with Scott one day, and I said: ‘I just don’t think I can handle the heartbreak any more. I think we should stop. We’ve got Jude, so let’s enjoy him,’" she told the publication.
A Bright End to a Tough Year
Despite the profound sadness of 2025, the year concluded on a high note for the presenter. Moffatt triumphed in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special, dancing a Cha Cha Cha with professional partner Vito Coppola to Cher's DJ Play A Christmas Song.
Their performance earned a perfect score of 40 from the judges. Speaking to the Mirror before the show aired, Scarlett expressed her joy at the experience.
"I couldn't believe my luck when I was paired with Vito. I really wanted him!" she said. "We just have such a laugh together, it feels like I've known him a decade. It's just the best."
As she steps into 2026, Scarlett Moffatt's message is clear: after a period of immense personal challenge, her focus is on tranquillity and cherishing the family she has.
