Expectant mother hits back at stranger who demanded to know unborn baby's name

A pregnant woman has shared her encounter with an entitled stranger who insisted on knowing her unborn daughter's name, despite being told she was keeping it a secret until after the birth.

The 38-weeks-pregnant woman was at a supermarket checkout when an older couple began talking to her. The woman commented on her bump and asked when she was due. Upon learning she had a week to go, the stranger demanded: 'Go on then, tell me the name.'

The expectant mum replied that she was not telling anyone the name until after her daughter was born. The stranger persisted, saying it wasn't fair and that she had to tell her. The mum retorted: 'Well, how about, if you do see me again, it'll be after she's born, so you can ask HER what her name is, okay?'

The stranger grumbled that the baby would not be able to tell her, before storming off. The mums-to-be shared the story on Reddit, where it received hundreds of comments, with many users supporting her right to keep the name private.
