A new mother has expressed her anger after her husband left her alone with their newborn baby and two older children to go on a two-day golf trip, just three weeks after she had a C-section. The mum, who posted on Mumsnet, said her husband has been on paternity leave and has been helping with the older children, but she feels his decision to go on the annual trip with friends is selfish.
The mother explained that she had a C-section three weeks ago and has two other children aged four and six. Her husband packed his bags and left for the golf trip, leaving her to care for all three children by herself. She also noted that the house is in a state of disarray, with the bathroom uncleaned for a month, carpets not vacuumed for weeks, and toys and dirty clothes scattered around. She is still in pain from bending and squatting, making it difficult to catch up on housework.
Although the husband arranged for his mother to help while he is away, the mum still feels it is unreasonable for him to leave her after major surgery. She said, 'I just feel like leaving your newly postpartum wife after she has just had major surgery, to play golf is a bit selfish.' She added that she had to watch him pack his golf things while she is exhausted and sore.

A morning playing one round locally is perhaps reasonable, not time away overnight.'
