Millie Bobby Brown has given fans a touching and rare insight into her new life as a mother, following her and husband Jake Bongiovi's decision to adopt a baby girl earlier this year. The 21-year-old actress, famed for her role in Netflix's Stranger Things, shared intimate family moments on Instagram this week.
A Glimpse Into Family Life
In a series of personal snaps posted on Wednesday, Brown documented what she called her "wild month" during the press tour for the final series of Stranger Things. The first image, however, was a heartfelt family portrait. It showed Millie holding her infant daughter, whose face was covered with an emoji for privacy, alongside her father-in-law, the legendary singer Jon Bon Jovi. Both were wrapped up warmly against the cold.
Another serene photo captured the new mum relaxing by a pool, cradling her daughter while dressed in a white maxi skirt and black blouse. The carousel also included a loved-up shot with husband Jake Bongiovi on a balcony, where Millie gently caressed his face as they held their baby girl between them.
The Bongiovi Name Revelation
This intimate reveal comes just days after Brown casually disclosed a significant personal change: she has officially taken her husband's surname. The revelation occurred during a lighthearted interview with her Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp for VT.
When Schnapp attempted to state her full name as "Millie Bonnie Brown," Brown interjected with "Well, now...", prompting him to correct himself to "Millie Bonnie Brown Bongiovi." Millie then instructed him to "Drop the Brown," confirming her legal name is now Millie Bonnie Bongiovi. She had previously revealed her true middle name was Bonnie, with 'Bobby' adopted as a stage name "for shits and giggles."
A Journey to Parenthood
The couple's journey to becoming parents began publicly in August of this year. Millie issued a statement on her main Instagram page announcing they had welcomed their "sweet baby girl through adoption." She expressed that they were "beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy," signing off with "And then there were 3. Love, Millie and Jake Bongiovi."
Brown has since gushed about her husband's role, stating, "We are 50-50 on everything. That's why I'm so grateful to have partnered with him in this life – he is just the most amazing dad." She also revealed that her co-star Noah Schnapp is the godfather to their child.
Millie and Jake, who is the son of rock icon Jon Bon Jovi, were first linked in 2021, got engaged in 2023, and secretly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in May 2024, followed by a lavish Tuscan wedding later in the year.
