Kelly McKee Zajfen, 44, shared her pregnancy news in an emotional Instagram post on Thursday, November 13. The co-founder of the charity Alliance of Moms, who has been friends with Meghan Markle for over two decades, posted a heartfelt message alongside a picture of herself cradling her baby bump.
"Sometimes… just sometimes… when you let light in through the broken pieces of your heart, love grows," Kelly wrote. "Baby boy coming this Spring." She described the path to this moment as not easy, but one where love persisted. "This little soul is already so loved, a reminder that joy and grief can exist together… and that hope has a way of finding us again," she added.
A Tragic Loss and Unwavering Support
Kelly's son, George, died suddenly in 2021 at the age of nine after contracting Covid and viral meningitis. His death was a devastating and traumatic event for the family. Meghan Markle was a pivotal source of support for Kelly during this period of immense grief.
Following George's passing, Meghan and Prince Harry donated $5,000 (approximately £3,800) to a GoFundMe set up in his honour, attributing the donation to their children, Archie and Lilibet.
