Atomic Kitten star Liz McClarnon has announced she is pregnant with her first child at the age of 44, following a two-decade struggle to conceive. The singer shared the news on Instagram on Tuesday, revealing that she had endured years of 'painful' IVF treatment.
In a video posted to her account, McClarnon is seen sitting on a park bench before turning to reveal her baby bump. She said: 'I've been keeping a secret from you, and I've mostly kept myself off social media because sometimes it was hard to smile. But after years of sometimes quite painful IVF and dark times, I'm pregnant! We feel like we've been given the world.'
The singer married her husband Peter Cho in June 2023 in a private ceremony in the Lake District, attended by her former Atomic Kitten bandmate Natasha Hamilton. McClarnon had kept her husband's identity hidden from fans until their first wedding anniversary last year.
McClarnon's announcement was met with an outpouring of support from celebrity friends, including Hamilton, who wrote: 'Literally couldn’t be any happier for you both! After all you’ve been through, this little miracle is everything.' Former Atomic Kitten member Kerry Katona and other stars also offered their congratulations.
